As an older woman was traveling on a commercial airline to Denver, the jet
began to have mechanical problems. The captain informed the passengers to
stay seated with seatbelts on and to not panic as they attempted an
emergency landing.

Some passengers began to pray, others watched nervously out the windows or
clung desperately to thier belongings. A man seated next to the woman was
astonished as she calmly continued knitting with a content smile on her
face.

"Didn't you hear what's happening?" he asked her, "We could all die you
know."

The old woman smiled and calmly replied: "Sir, I lost one of my daughters to
cancer about 2 years ago. She accepted Christ as a young girl and lived her
life in service to Him. I know she is with Jesus right now.
My other daughter lives in Denver with her husband, and I was on my way to
see her."

The old woman smiled brightly as she finished explaining:

"It really makes no difference to me which daughter I go to visit today."

To A Beautiful Person...

If God had a refrigerator, your picture would be on it.

If He had a wallet, your photo would be in it.

He sends you flowers every spring.

He sends you a sunrise every morning.

Whenever you want to talk, He listens.

He can live anywhere in the universe, but He chose... your heart.

Face it friend, He is crazy about you!

God didn't promise days without pain, laughter without sorrow, sun without
rain, but He did promise strength for the day, comfort for the tears, and
light for the way.

No Excuse Sunday

To make it possible for everyone to attend church this Sunday, we are going
to have a special "No Excuse Sunday".

Cots will be placed in the foyer for those who say "Sunday is my only day to
sleep in".

There will be a special section with lounge chairs for those who say "The
pews are too hard".

We will have steel helmets for those who say "The roof would cave in if I
ever came to church."

Blankets will be provided for those who think the church is too cold, and
fans for those who say it's too hot.

Scorecards will be available for those who wish to list the "hypocrites"
that are present.

We will have "Stamp Out Stewardship" buttons for those who feel that the
church is always asking for money.

Doctors and nurses will be available for those who plan to be sick on
Sunday.

The sancuary will be decorated with both Christmas Poinsettas, and Easter
Lillies for those who have never seen the church without them.

Where will you be next Sunday?

What happens when an athiest, who happens to be an attorney, decides to put
Christianity on trial?

After weighing the evidence, Lee Strobel came to the following conclusion:

"In light of the convincing facts I learned during my investigation, in the
face of this overwhelming avalanche of evidence in the case for Christ, the
great irony was this:
it would require much more faith for me to maintain my atheism than to trust
in Jesus of Nazareth!"

author of "The Case For Christ"

 The Dive

A young man who had been raised as an atheist was training to be an Olympic
diver.

The only religious influence in his life came from his outspoken Christian
friend. The young diver never really paid much attention to his friend's
sermons, but he heard them often.

One night the diver went to the indoor pool at the college he attended. The
lights were all off, but as the pool had big skylights and the moon was
bright, there was plenty of light to practice by. The young man climbed up
to the highest diving board and as he turned his back to the pool on the
edge of the board and extended his arms out, he saw his shadow on the wall

The shadow of his body was in the shape of a cross.

Instead of diving, he knelt down and finally asked God to come into his
life.

As the young man stood, a maintenance man walked in and turned the lights
on.

The pool had been drained for repairs.

Jesus' House?

There once was a man who heard about God becoming flesh to walk among us,
and to offer Himself up as a sacrifice for our sins. The story made sense,
and there seemed to be enough historical and prophetic evidence to back it
up, so the man decided to believe in Jesus.

The man's life, however, did not change. He continued living to make money
and spend it on things to try to make himself happy. "I believe that the
Bible is true, and that's enough" the man thought.

One night the man had a dream:

He heard a knock at the door. He opened it to find Jesus standing there.

"I thought you were going to invite me in." Jesus said.

"I... I was." The man replied. " I believe you exist" he added.

"Yes I know" said Jesus. "A lot of people do, but they do not do anything
about it. May I come in?"

The man thought it over for a few moments, and then answered, "I guess you
can come in for a few minutes."

"I only come into homes where I am welcome to stay" Jesus answered.

"Well, I suppose since you are the Son of God, I would be foolish to say no.
But Please don't snoop around in any drawers or anything, or in my
bedroom... Oh! Or my closet!" the man added hastily.

Jesus just frowned, not moving and not saying a word.

"Look," the man said, "I don't want to go to hell, so I am willing to put up
with you to a certain extent. But this is my house and I make the rules,
understand? I would be willing to clear out the guest bedroom for you to
stay in. I will remove any offensive music or books... oh yeah, and some
videos that I don't want you to see, and that room will be clean and sinless
for you, but you have to stay in that room. The rest of my house is mine and
it will stay that way."

"I'm very sorry." Jesus said softly as He turned to leave.

The man just watched, speechless, as Jesus walked over to the neighbor's
house. After a brief conversation, the neighbor invited Jesus in, and they
disappeared into the house together. A few minutes later, both Jesus and the
neighbor came out of the house with a bunch of CD's, some videos and books,
and dropped them into the trash can. Soon, it became apparent the this
neighbor had given Jesus full authority over his house, and everything in
it.

As time passed, most of the neighborhood noticed that this house was
different. The man was almost always happy, concerned more with sharing and
helping others than with himself. Some people were jealous, and vandalized
his house, and played mean pranks and hassled the man more than anyone else,
but it didn't seem to bother him much.

"I don't understand it." the man thought to himself. "My neighbor is
persecuted and hassled and made fun of more than anyone, but yet he is
always one of the happiest people around. He is even nice to the people who
make fun of him. First he let Jesus in to run his life like he's some kind
of slave or something, then as a reward, he gets to be attacked and
persecuted, and he is happier than he was when he was just another normal
person!"

Suddenly the man woke up. He could not sleep for the rest of the night. "My
life is just like that dream" he thought. "I am willing to let Jesus have a
few minutes of my time when it is convenient for me, but a vast majority of
my life is off limits to Him. No wonder He is not living in my life, He
probably doesn't want to be locked in a small room inside of me when there
are others willing to give their lives to Him."

"I guess I have a decision to make..."

Do you?
